GZO Spital Wetzikon

The GZO Hospital Wetzikon is a regional tertiary care hospital with a university teaching mandate. With 150 beds and approximately 900 employees, it provides comprehensive primary medical care to over 100,000 outpatients and around 10,000 inpatients annually, primarily from the Zurich Oberland region. High-quality medical care and nursing, along with strong regional ties, have formed the foundation of the non-profit GZO Hospital Wetzikon for over 100 years. The hospital is supported by its twelve shareholder municipalities: Bäretswil, Bauma, Bubikon, Dürnten, Fischenthal, Gossau, Grüningen, Hinwil, Rüti, Seegräben, Wald, and Wetzikon.

PIT Solutions was involved in the UX design, development and ongoing maintenance of a fully responsive web platform for GZO using TYPO3, covering more than 50 clinics, centers and departments. The implementation includes several custom TYPO3 extensions such as a baby gallery, job listings with job-subscription alerts, staff management, a medical conditions module, event management and a download center. The platform integrates Apache Solr enterprise search, a department A–Z quick finder, an emergency contact system, blog, podcast and newsletter modules ensuring patients and referring physicians find critical information quickly and easily.
